Recent events in South Africa have highlighted again the importance of recognizing maintenance as a profession in its own right. In August 2007 the news that CCMA would not be operational due to the fact that a transformer exploded in the building made headline news, today a scant 12 months later it pales in significance to the 90% limit placed on mining operations, rolling load shedding and a number of related energy shortage rectification plans.
Does maintenance have a role to play? We would argue yes and so the founding principles of SAAMA are under written by current reality. Through events such as The Annual Golf Day held on November 14th, 2007 followed by an auction of sports memorabilia in aid of NOAH sponsors are able to participate and get exposure to Industry through the good offices of SAAMA.
Having hopefully motivated the continued existence of SAAMA we could not play the significant role we are destined to play, without sponsorship support.
During the past year we have introduced a number of innovations to facilitate the participation of organizations such as yours in SAAMA activities and we would be happy to discuss this with you should the interest exist.
Through this note we would therefore request your kind consideration to support SAAMA for the 2009/2010 year with a sponsorship.
