Why the name change you may ask?  Quite simple it's a matter of addressing the holistic needs of our members and aligning ourselves with the international drive towards full life cycle management versus only focussing on maintenance issues.  We are also aligned with the much publicised PAS 55 standards as set out by the British Standards Institute (BSi), which talks Asset Management and LIfe Cycle Management.

The Southern African Asset Management Association (SAAMA), previously known as SAMA (SA Maintenance Association) was established to promote the interests of Maintenance and Asset Management Professionals in Southern Africa. SAAMA is a registered Section 21 company (non profitable organization).

This we achieve by facilitating communication between our members, industry service providers and other affiliated organizations and institutions.

We make serveral services and products available to the industry to assist and grow maintenance practitioners in their effort of improving their company's asset management.

19th Annual Conference

SAAMA has endorsed and accredited the MECSA 2010 Annual Conference, which will take place at the Garden Court, OR Tambo, Johannesburg from the 23rd to 26th March 2010!  The SAAMA Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on the 24th March 2010 at 14:00.  All SAAMA members are invited to participate.  The AGM is free of charge. 

Our Gala Event will also take place during the Conference on the 24th March 2010 at 18:30 for 19:00.  Members who would like to attend the Gala Event must please book via email to info@sama.org.za, or book directly from the SAAMA EVENTS page.  More information will be emailed to all members during February 2010.  Looking forward to seeing you there!
